Our Annual developmental Biology symposium occurred on a sunny Friday June 23rd, 2023 at the Life Science Research Institute of Dalhousie University. Students and faculty from a number of Canadian maritime universities participated, with guest speaker Dr. Alex Moise regaling us on the importance of retinoids in development. His lecture was completed by a number of short presentations from student's and research associates, covering a wide diversity of topics, including the formation of tracheal cartilages, muscle, social peptides in teleosts, cerebellum, cranial nerve, and placode development, matrix metalloprotinase imaging, and astrocyte diversity. Thanks to the American Association of Anatomy, Developmental Dynamics, and the Brain Repair Centre of Halifax for the support.
